Here goes nothing..

My girlfriend and I recently had to move into the apartment next to her mother because of financial difficulty, neither of us have been able to find steady work. Come to find out, she is pregnant now, so I have been trying my hardest to find work. Filling hundreds of applications, advertising freely on craigslist and the like to see if I can build websites for small companies and/or individuals, and I have been volunteering time to drive a disabled gentleman who is wheelchair bound. I fear I may have to stop volunteering as it is crushing my time spent. I applied at social services and have heard nothing back from them (3 weeks so far). Every time we have tried to make time to go to the office, something comes up and our big hearts don’t just say “no, we don’t have time”.

I don’t want to get into brutal detail, but her mother has never had a positive relationship.. abusive and the like. She seemed to be doing better, but now she is lifting a restraining order on her ex husband. This fills me with grief and worry, this man is simply dangerous. This man has also threatened my girlfriends life at one point, and I refuse to feel unsafe in the place we planned to raise a child. I’m not sure why her mother is doing this, maybe she really is just such a push over she would risk the lives of others due to her own insecurity, or maybe she has alternative motives. I really can’t say. All I know is, my girlfriend and I need to get out of here immediately. Without funds, without any direction of where to go, all we know is this is not a safe place anymore. I’m not sure how much time we have to stay before the order is lifted, but we must go. If anyone has any ideas as to what we should do, please help.
