I think I accidentally led this guy on…

what do I do?

This guy from school said that we should hang out this summer and asked for my number. I told him I was really busy during summer but that I had a week break after finals, and I gave him my email address because I lost my phone. He emailed me yesterday asking about tomorrow, but I have plans. I wouldn’t mind hanging out with him once this week, but that’s probably it and of course I don’t want him to get the wrong idea. What’s a good, kind way to nip this in the bud?

Invite him to something casual along with several of your other friends. Shows him he is in the friend category, and still lets you keep your promise to hang out with him during your free week.
