Hello, i made post here awhile ago saying that i was moving to united states from russia.

it appears that i came earlier than what i thought. i am going to atend school when it start again in the fall. i was actualy introduced to my class a few week before school ended for them. i have many guy come up to me and ask me to talk because they say my acent it cool and they have me say sentenses to them in russian. i made new friends already and we seem to have fun when we go and hang out but do you think they only like me because i came from russia? i actualy make more guy friends than girl friends. should i worry about this? sorry for my bad english

well I will say that people from other countries are generally a lot more appealing as friends for a lot of reasons. You are probably a really cool person, if you weren’t it wouldn’t matter where you were from, nobody would be hanging out with you. However, I know I really enjoy conversations with my non native friends simply because they are so different. It makes them really interesting. I get to here about things I’ve been around my whole life and taken for granted, from a new perspective. I get to learn about new food, new music, new clothes, new ideas. Not new to them, but new to me. That makes conversation more lively. You are someone who will have infinitely different ways of looking at things and that is pretty cool. I hope you enjoy being here. As for having you say things in Russian, well… learning how to say something in a different language is fun. Just my opinion.
