So I woke up this morning with severe abdominal pain radiating to my back and nausea.

When I tried to take my pain meds I vomited. This pain was so severe I couldn’t sit or stand for more than five minutes at a time because it hurt so much. So I went to the hospital this morning and received a diganosis of pancreatitis. I am now at the hospital, hooked up to IV fluids, and a pain pump. They said they don’t expect that I’ll have to stay here for more than a day or two but b/c of my history of pancreatitis they weren’t going to make any guarantees. So if I am not on much, now you know why.

Thanks for the note. Get well soon? Expect a miraculous recovery? That’s what I’m doing every second, trying to feel that the health situation I’m thinking about is going in a positive direction.

You are in good hands. I still give the food a thumbs down though. Sneak in what you can. A box of Fruit Loops should buy off a guard or two.

I wish you all the best in your quick recovery. Hurry home soon!

Oh no!
I’m sorry, that sucks so much.

If there’s anything positive that can come out of this, it’s that people like myself can learn from your amazing perseverance. Get well soon!

Just for some curiosity — but you have not to answer if you don’t like!:
Do you drink alcoholic drinks?
Do you smoke?
Are there pancreatitis cases in your newer family history?

Unfortunately your pancreatitis seems to turn to a chronic one. What did doctors found out meanwhile about the cause?
It’s known also that either a gene mutation or an autoimmune deficit can cause it.

(Could be, that you already have given some answers to this questions in your former posts. Then disregard them anyway.)

I don’t drink, smoke, and there is no family history. I have a functional disorder known as Spincter of Oddi Dysfunction which often has pancreatitis as a symptom.
