There’s a guy I’ve been crushing on for some time

and every time I’m near him I’m acutely aware how I’m drawn to him…but my problem is every time I feel this way with a guy I tense up a lot whereas normally I don’t get like this with any guys I talk to..maybe cuz this guy’s so extroverted and I’m so introverted..what should I do? How can I just relax and be normal and not be awkward? Thanks.

My advice is don’t date… ever gone through a break up with someone you really loved? NOT worth it. Trust me. Especially if you’re young. Boys are stupid. Females need MEN not boys, so you should just wait until you’re old enough to be with men.

Yeah you just have to go for it and try to overcome how nervous you are. Maybe even try drooling hints and see if makes a move. I’m not a fan of that sort of action myself but if its because you’re shy and not trying to play a game it should be fine. Just remember that you only live once and your chance with him now could be gone tomorrow.

As per the first post. It takes a women to attract a man, age not being a determininimg factor. Just saying.

Just be yourself it sounds so cliche. The right guy should make you feel comfortable. And I’m very optomistic about love, I say go for it! Yeah you may go through heart break but you live and you learn you never know if you don’t try! Goodluck :)

Thank you for the replies..

I’ve tried my best to play it cool now. If this is something I feel very often in my life, I probably wouldn’t think much of it, but when I get close to him, I feel so much softer than I normally am which is so unusual.

Dfeeds, funny you should mention age.. I think I’m much older than he is even though I look younger and that’s part of the reason why I can’t be open and be comfortable.

Don’t let that bother you one bit! Some men, myself included, prefer older women.

If the insecurity is with yourself not being sure if a younger man would work out then that’s for you to decide, but I also don’t believe it is an issue. I dated a woman who was 26, while I was 20. Not a large gap in number’s alone, but through experience it was a big leap. She felt similar to the way you do in the beginning also. That feeling for her quickly grew into, how she described it, as feeling alive because she was starting to feel old.

In the end she couldn’t get over that I couldn’t attend certain events with her, being under drinking age (even though it wasn’t permanent). Despite that, we grew to really care for the other and value each other’s company. Even after it was over we remained close friends. I wish things were different, but the point is that it doesn’t matter.

Age is a number, and nothing more. The level of maturity and two people’s ability to connect is the deciding factor. As said too, just be yourself. I’d be willing to bet that if there’s a mutual interest, he’s just as nervous as you are. It supposedly never showed on my end (so she said), but I was very self conscious on whether I was acting too immature or not. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks Dfeeds for sharing that; definitely something I’d keep in mind. I guess I’ll let things flow and try to be normal and natural :) thanks again!
