How Should I explain this to him :(

My guy friend and I recently decided to pursue a romantic relationship. I hate it >:/

I hate to seem frigid or whatever xP but I like to control the pace of my relationships and that pace is usually AGONIZINGLY SLOW to guys. I know this :)

But my guy friend… Apparently lacks patients. We’re just on totally different chapters in that PARTICULAR book
All this sucks ’cause he’s cool peoples and all but… I am just completely uninterested in anything romantic anymore and I know he still is.

I suck at stuff like this and it usually ends up turning out horribly for everyone. So if anyone knows of how I should explain this to him (verbatim if ya can!) and still salvage our friendship it would be much appreciated :)
