I am trying to understand which of the following is grammatically correct:

“Enclosed in this envelope are my letter of acceptance to the college to which I applied, my grade transcript, and a copy of the email exchange between Mr. Dickinson and myself.”

“Enclosed in this envelope are my letter of acceptance to the college to which I applied, my grade transcript, and a copy of the email exchange between Mr. Dickinson and I.”

Either one is OK, but you may want to say either Enclosed in this envelope IS my letter or Enclosed in this envelope are my letterS

Originally I had “is” instead of “are” but the spellcheck on Microsoft Word flagged it as incorrect and suggested I use “are” instead. Since I have more than one item enclosed in the envelope, wouldn’t I use “are”?
