life help: I have no real desire behind life and because of this no drive to do anything. - Help.com

I have no real desire behind life and because of this no drive to do anything.

I just feel so stuck in an endless cycle. I have no idea what to do with myself. My talent has to lie somewhere. I just do not know where to look or what to do. What can I do?

Here are a couple places to look:
http://www.withinsight.com/lifepurpose/
http://www.theonequestion.com/

The first one is a site that is associated with a record company — hence the links about “free gifts” — but all the audio and text life purpose thinking and guidance on that page is free; and some of it looks interesting to me. You just have to be in a relaxed enough mood to listen to someone talk or read multiple paragraphs of text, so I haven’t had the attention span to explore it deeply, but each time I check it out, it seems interesting and helpful.

The other page is just about the big question: what to do? what’s the point? who am I and what do I want? etc.

that’s all right, i used to feel the same way-life if pointless(’cause in a way it is). so i started doing things i enjoyed for the mere fact that i enjoyed them, didn’t worry whether it was my purpose in life(or not). just start moving somehow. you may lack the ‘drive’ but you still know what you like and what you don’t, so do that.

You need to sit down and take a vacation from work or something. Reflect on your life. What are your interests? Have you gone to college? Do you want to? Find something that interests you and try to make a career out of it. Date, or if you’re with someone tell them that you feel stuck and want to “mix things up”. That could be a date night or going out spontaneously. Feeling stuck is terrible. Try new things you are afraid to or just haven’t done, somewhere you will feel a pull to be there.
