New phone dropped in water.

Dilemma.

Hey, so six days ago i bought a new phone, and it cost me quite alot, i used quite a lot of my 18th birthday money to purchase it too, which makes this situation only worse. I was tired after work last night, so i decided to soak my feet. I thought my phone was next to me and the post came, as i stood up i heard a PLOP. and my whole life just crumbled. My hand followed as soon as it fell in, i took out the battery, sim card and memory card immediately and towel dries the phone, i also used a vacum to suck out any excess water, it is now sitting in a bag of rice. I did this with my previous blackberry and left it for ten days thinking it was broken for sure, out of curiosity i tested it again, and it worked fine since, is there any other way i can ensure the survival of my poor phone? :-( I haven’t even told my mother yet, my life would not be worth living! advice welcome!
