morning help: My dog just ate my cookie cake. - Help.com

My dog just ate my cookie cake.

My birthday was yesterday, I got a huge cookie cake. It had icing on it, chocolate chips in it, m&m’s in it… Lots of chocolate.

There was more than half of it left last night. This morning, I woke up to my dog wanting to go outside. I quickly found that my cookie cake box was on the ground, clearly ripped open, and my cake was gone. :P

I guess my mom put it on the table in our living room before she left for work - it’s low to the ground and our dog normally wouldn’t have been able to reach it.

Anyways, my dog isn’t acting sick, but I don’t know when this happened. There was quite a bit of chocolate in that cookie. What do I do? :P

Call the vet, and let them know what happened. They’ll give you advice on whether he should be brought in, or tell you certain remedies to give the dog that would help.

or maybe your mum ate it and put the box on the floor to blame the dog?
your dog should be ok unless he ate his whole bodyweight in coco but keep an eye on him

My dog is about 75 pounds — so she’d have to consume at least a pound and a half of semi-sweet chocolate to get even mild poisoning…
There definitely wasn’t that much chocolate.

I’m without a phone (left mine at a friend’s) and can’t call a vet or anyone, and I can’t drive because I have no license or anything, let alone a car. I’m going to have to wait for my mom to get home.

Thanks for the help, guys. :P

some dogs eat chocolates all their life and they are fine, like everyone said - keep an eye on your pup.
