Birthday Help…

My husband’s birthday is next week and I still have no idea what to get him?!?! He doesn’t like sports, or hunting, or any of the “normal” stuff… he likes video games, but he’s very picky and he hasn’t mentioned one he wanted. Everytime I ask he tells me he doesn’t want anything. I want to do/get something special for him but I am just so lost at this point. I thought about cooking something special for him, but to be honest he’s the usual cook because I am really bad at it :-S. He doesn’t want a party because he doesn’t want to be reminded he’s one year older. I want to do something really sweet for him, because he’s the kind of guy who would appreciate something like that. But my mind is just blank??? Any ideas…

If he doesn’t really want material possessions is there something you could do together? Sometimes that can be better. A band he would like to see, or some other event, a night in a hotel somewhere?

Get him a gift card to GameStop (lots of games) or Steam (online games like Portal).

Try getting him a card that says, “Happy ?? Birthday, Joe!” (whatever his name is). It’s maybe a fun way to poke fun at his age. :)

Well, maybe a special surprise for his birthday NIGHT? ;D Do something different like dress up, or put on a show, or something fancy like that.

Oh I wish I could take him somewhere. But with work and kids… it’s kind of an impossibility. We don’t have babysitters and my work is REALLY unflexible.

thats tough. Well then I would suggest (trying ;)) to make him a nice candlelit meal, and maybe treat him to a massage after.

I ended up making my dh a book of us dating, getting married, starting a family. I put pictures on every page and wrote a “once upon a time” story to go with it- kept a simple rhyme scheme. He said it was the best present he ever had. I made him dinner and then we just hung out with the rest of the fam. Thank you all for your suggestions. I really don’t have any “help” per se, except from him. But thank you guys just the same.
