Love help: I want to change my life. - Help.com

I want to change my life.

I can’t complain as much because I do have some things I’m proud of and love but I don’t love my life. I know everyone has those things they would love to change and I want to change some things. I want more of me and for me to be more free and happy. I know I’m not being as clear but does anyone have ANY ideas?

Get a higher paying job with fewer hours? That probably isn’t even necessary. How about changing your routine and joining some clubs or trying some crazy things like skydiving or cooking even? Anything outside of your comfort zone :)

I do too, and here’s what I’m working on right now. First, I did some brainstorming and listed all the things I wanted to change. This can get a little depressing, so I took the time to write some of the things I already like about myself too to remind me its not all bad. :P Then I went through each item I wanted to change, and wrote about the motivation. Why did I want to change that particular aspect of myself? Most of them were pretty self-explanatory, but that step was important to me because it helped me figure out what I was hoping to gain from each change and make sure I really wanted it.

The next step, one that I plan to finish tonight, is writing out some Hows for each item. I need to make lists of actions I can take today that will help me make each change, that will bring me closer to being the person I want to be. And then I just have to take every opportunity I get to do those actions. If I act like the person I want to become, soon enough we’ll me indistinguishable from one another. :)

That’s the way I’m approaching it. I hope you find a way that works for you!

Wow I thought that was a great response:)
I really hope I could do that. But like you said I can be sad and I hate myself for knowing the things that I have done and some things that I haven’t. Ugh hopefully I can find SOME way, thanks:)

Haha, well it’s hard for me to be open, and that one of those things I would like to change. It sucks but it’s the truth.

actually .. i weigh the facts. do i want to change or do i want to stay the same. its not a matter of whats fortunate or unfortunate.. but what suits you. If you feel more strongly about changing yourself and your environment.. it’ll happen.. otherwise.. we remain. personally, in my situation.. i found out changing where and what im at is a far more greater burden.. so .. im ” ..happy since 2007 ”
