Find help: Hmmm. - Help.com

Hmmm.

I’m trying to figure out my significance. I know I am significant. I know I have a genius.

When I focus in on something I feel I do well, the feedback I get says I am not as good as I thought I was.
When I set back and take a humble route, I don’t seem to be able to find anything significant about myself.

I know you guys don’t really know me personally or anything, though I am hoping that you might be able to help me figure out my significance or help me figure out some new ways to figure it out myself.

I think hearing what is significant about me in another persons words would really help.

Thank you!

This indicates a kind of hubris, an exaggerated opinion of yourself, which can turn easily to arrogance.
How to matter in a lowlier way? By more listening and responding to others, less highlighting oneself.
The most significant for everybody is to become a social being …

Hmmmm. Good thoughts Zirbel. I’m gonna take some time and see how I can apply this.

Thank you for your insight!

For what it’s worth, I think that Zirbel (sorry man) might be a tad off on this one, just based off of how well you took my smartass remark and his idea that you are arrogant, I’m thinking that you just need some encouragement and reassurance. So: I think you are special and can achieve the things that you put your mind to.

Verge. Your words hit home. I can see where a little encouragement would really propel me and yes I usually take things pretty well.

Your insightfulness encourages me that what you are saying must have a lot of truth to it since it shows me you are really taking the time to answer thoughtfully. I’m going to think about this a lot and see how I can apply it too.

Thank you again Verge!

And might I say your hair is so perfectly trimmed and how do you hold the sun without getting burned. Wow, you’re amazing too!

I didn’t say, that he IS arrogant, but that this kind of behavior CAN TURN to arrogance.
Reading is not that easy, no?

Yes. Or wait, no! Is this a trick?

I think Zirbel was offering that if I was getting the response I said I was getting that I “could” be behaving arrogantly as a possibility. As something to keep in mind and consider.

Verge was also correct in assuming that in general I am not usually behaving on the arrogant side. I am more accepting and Verge can see where encouragement could really help me on this path.

I think both of you were talking about something differently and neither of each other’s insights negate each other. They are both golden nuggets that have already helped me.

Thank you each for your insights. and as always it is my responsibility to decide what you share is applicable in my life. I just appreciate that you both took the time to help me by sharing.
