I get bullied every day because I’m pale.

I can’t sun tan because I’ll burn and I don’t want to use self tanner. People say rude comments to me. Examples: “You’re too pale to be beautiful”, “No guy will ever like you! You’re too pale!” and “You look like Casper!” I’m really getting tired of this. I cry every time this happens. I just can’t take this anymore.

I think that this is very strange. Are you from the Jersey shore or something? There is absolutely nothing wrong with being pale. Lol, if I went out in the sun for an hour at the beach without sunscreen, I’d almost certainly get burned. People poke innocent fun at me for burning so easily, but nothing else. I think you should either toughen up or stop hanging around such weird shallow people.

I’d forgotten how cruel and sadistic people are in school, prob one of the happiest days of my life was leaving school and not having to deal with any of that bullying crap. Do not feel down about yourself because that’s how they want you to feel, and that is ******** some guys prefer pale girls to girls who look tanned. Also why should you have to change just coz they can’t accept you for being pale? They’re stupid and immature and just trying to show off in front of their childish little friends and trying to be funny coz that’s all they have in their boring lives and they’re so pathetic that they know the best years of their life are gonna be in school because when they leave it’ll be unwanted pregnancies, **** dead end jobs and falling out with people they thought were their real friends in school. If this gets too much for you tell someone about this because bullying (even if it’s name calling) is a serious thing ppl think it’s not unless you’re being beaten to a pulp but it IS I’ve been there I know what it’s like and things only got better once I told people.

You don’t have to change, and the people around you shouldn’t be treating you that way AND…. Try tanning slowly perhaps. I’ve read that how we tan is directly linked to the reserve of antioxidants in the skin. Low antioxidants and we burn, high antioxidants and we don’t. Do some research and see what you think about it.

I had some things people made fun of me for. After a while I decided I wanted to change those things. I mean, why not. Not because you have to to be valuable and worth as a human but because I like to look and do my best.

Either way, it really hurts yes and people have No right to treat you that way.

Words can only hurt you if you let them. I know it’s hard to ignore them, but perhaps you can take some solace knowing that these people will experience bad things for being rude to you. It’s sort of like karma.

I truly feel sorry for those people who are obsessed with tanning because little do they know that too much sun is counterproductive.

Yeah you have banter with friends and you have a laugh, but if they’re teasing you to the point of tears and making you uncomfortable and wanting to change yourself they’re not your friends and it is bullying, just my opinion.

I fake tan but that’s just because I like the way I look when I’m fake tanned I don’t do it for other people I’ve been fake tanning for years I wish I could accept myself as being pale and normal but I can’t lol it’s weird ever since I was 18 people have always seen me as the badly fake tanned party girl it’s like a self ingrained image or something.

I saw a post floating around here somewhere about how people who like suntanning are ‘intellectually challenged’. If you can find it, just print it out, descend to their level and start bullying them back. Say, ‘Look at the facts! You are intellectually challenged.’

I hope that helps.

I have nothing against fake tanning or real tanning. I understand most of the reasons for wanting to tan - because I used to think it was cool. But after learning of all the health risks involved I think I would just rather be a vampire.

I would never go on a sunbed and I don’t sunbathe because there’s no point I don’t tan naturally, fake tan can look really bad and smell really bad but it’s better than getting cancer.

Sweetie, I am nineteen and the whitest, palest, fairest person on this planet. I’ve been called everything and I’ve been made fun of my whole life by my family, my best friends, guys, my boyfriends, and mostly by strangers and acquaintances. Society tells us that tan is beautiful, but what it doesn’t tell us is that there is a risk to tanning, both indoors and by sun. It damages your skin terribly and ages you. Those pretty tan girls will have bills so large from wrinkle cream and plastic surgery, they’ll be in debt forever.
I know things are tough and it’s hard to be different, but things get better. A lot of guys think it’s pretty, and even sexy, for girls to be fair. And frankly, I think fair girls are more beautiful than girls with fake tans. Don’t get me wrong - tans are pretty. I would of loved to be born with naturally tan skin, but I just wasn’t. And you got to play the cards your dealt. I know it’s cliche, and I really do know how rough it is, but I’ve been there and I’ve been through it. I am literally the color of this computer screen. But the people who make fun of us are no better than jerks and scoundrels, and they have a lot of catching up to do in the real world. Don’t be ashamed of your paleness, embrace it. :) When you get old, you’ll still look young and pretty and wrinkle free. And anyone who says else wise doesn’t matter. At all. Ever. Seriously.

From what I understand there isn’t actually a measurement for darkness. They measure it by the absence of light. Same thing with cold. There isn’t actually a measurement. It is the degree of the absence of heat.

Exactly. It is the presence of the melanin or the absence of the melanin. Either way, it’s the melanin baby!

Think of it this way. You don’t’ fight something you don’t’ think is bigger or better than you in some way. I mean, seriously, would you haul Tush on a 1 year old toddling over to you and hitting you with your toy. No way!

So if someone is bullying you than they see you as better than them in some way. It’s just not human nature to deal with something that is insignificant with so much energy.

Maybe you were secretly trying to make me lose? Then if it’s reflected at you, you make yourself lose.

I just want you to win and to never ever be bullied again.

I think it was in the nature of the game for me to want you to lose and my only options were to either keep fighting forever or to give in and bear the consequences of admission.
Thank you for wanting me to win and not be bullied. I haven’t been bullied, just to let you know, but maybe your thoughts will be like protection should anyone evil ever want to hurt me.

If that is you in the picture then you are quite cute. As for not tanning, don’t fret on it none. I personally think paler girls are cute and a bit of a rarity. Who needs a tan, that’s fake.

Maybe, here’s a little rhyme you can use in times of fear:
“I am on the verge of courage.”
You could say that until you manage to pull yourself into the courage zone.

I am almost de-stressed.

Exactly. That’s how positive thinking works. You imagine the state you want to be at, imagine that it is possible to get there.

Make sure you use the actual name of what you want in your affirmation. Don’t say “stressed” in your affirmation unless you want stressed to be what you affirm.

Maybe try:

I’m more peaceful now than I was.

Normally that is true, but I found recently that by focusing on a thought to overcome worry, it draws up any latent worries I may have forgotten about and exposes them to my directed positive thinking process. It’s pretty interesting, in that it definitely causes me to be in a state of pure worrifulness, but also has the key to dealing with it.

How do you take action to overcome your problems when you are so worried? I just start to shake if I’m that worried.

I’m not saying overcome worry with the affirmation. That is focusing on worry.

You are not trying to overcome worry, you are feeling peace. Do you feel any kind of peace at all in your life? focus on that. or maybe just focus on what it would feel like to feel peace. If you ask yourself what would peace feel like if I could feel it right now? Do you feel something? Anything different than that might be even a portion of what peace could feel like? Then from there you can affirm truthfully that you are more peaceful than you were a moment ago. That would be a true affirmation that has nothing to do with overcoming anything. It would be affirming that you do feel more peaceful now than you did.

Of course in the end it’s whatever works for you is the right way to do an affirmation. I suppose I’m pushing my way of doing affirmations a little bit here. I could have put this in a way that just proposed a considering of what I was saying.

There is nothing wrong with being pale! I am super pale myself! When I was younger, I used to teased about it too. Especially as a teenager. However, now that I am an old 31 year old, all those overly tanned girls are getting lots of wrinkles. And I look younger than them. I can only imagine the difference when we’re all old ladies! You’ll look younger than them too when you’re older.
