I think the OP means it came off of the iron, like maybe it’s a burn mark. Like how if it gets too hot it burns your clothes, and there’s some burn residue left over.
Not sure how to get it out. I don’t think you can. :( Ask your local dry cleaners!

Throw the shirt away and buy a new one. Hire someone who knows how to use an iron. I ruin something every time I fire up an iron… a tie and a shirt in the last two weeks alone. Then I go storming into the bedroom and wake up my wife like I should have in the first place.

So you can wear one of your wife’s shirts?

I wouldn’t trust my wife with an iron, or my laundry for that matter.

I never learned how to do laundry. Mom did it and then girlfriends and then the wife. No cooking either. I love it.

Black residue? sounds like you burned it, that or you burned something on the iron and it got on the shirt. If you burned the shirt, just toss it, there isn’t any simple way to fix it.

Use lemon juice on it, and then soak the spot on both sides with Oxyclean. Work the Oxyclean in with an old toothbrush. Repeat the next day and saturate the area with Dawn dishwashing liquid. Then throw it in the washing machine with a normal measuring of detergent. If the stain is still there, repeat–do not throw the shirt in the dryer if the stain is still there. If it’s going to come out, this technique will do it.
