girl help: Why wold this girl at the pizza shop I work at tell me she wasnt wearing make-up when she clearly was. - Help.com

She probably has self esteem issues and is worried people see that, so she tells them she’s not wearing make-up even though she feels naked with out it. So she’s hoping she can make it look so natural that people will think that’s just what she looks like and therefore feel better about herself, not that that’s going to work.

i think she looks fine either way but it was like u made it bad when u said u werent wearing any.

I’m sure she knows that… but at the same time she’s scared that people think she’s unattractive so if she can make them think, in her mind, that she is naturally more attractive than she really is, she thinks she’ll feel better about herself.

yeah she seems like she got a pretty high opinion of her self she is pretty but the things she tells me sumtimes, i think it is from guys telling her how hot she is trying to get into her pants

It’s probably a front she puts on to hide insecurity.

how would one go about helping to get her through her inscurities with out going overboard with the head enlarging compliments

You can try telling her that confidence and self esteem doesn’t come from who you are, it comes from the things you accomplish. But other than that I don’t know how to help someone who is insecure. I am insecure myself so yeah.

thanks for the advice, she is a project that I wish I could work on, but it is hard to get her to let me in, I feel like I make head way then she clams back up, I got her to start talking bout her dreams and things that motivate her, but then she kinda goes to her phone and starts to be anti social or starts doing stupid lil things to me to like get off the subject i think, her big thing now is depantsing me haha she is cool

she probably just meant she wasn’t wearing much. sometimes I slip up and say that, too. I’ll be wearing nothing but eyeliner (and a lot of it) and I’ll act like I’m not wearing any because I usually wear concealer or base. It just feels that way.
I’m sure she wasn’t trying to fool you…
