Person help: Okay so I think my friend is lying to me…? - Help.com

Okay so I think my friend is lying to me…

? She says she is texting an EXTREMELY hot and popular celebrity (not saying the name of him ) who we are both obsessed with. She says he’s about to ask her out (By the way, he’s 6 years older than her). She told me they talked on the phone and stuff… I have a really big feeling its not true. Either she is lying or her friend is tricking her. My friend isn’t the type of person who would lie, and it really doesn’t make sense. Help, I really need to know what I should say to her (btw… this is all over texting) and what I should do.

it’s justin bieeber, isn’t it?
Not that I think she is hot, or popular, or a man. I just can’t picture someone believing that they were actually texting a celebrity, except for if it were a young girl. And young girls like justin bieber most of the time.

I had a friend who was tricked by another friend of hers into thinking this guy existed, but it was really her ‘friend’ with two email accounts and such. It happens. If your friend isn’t lying then she is being tricked. And there is no way that some part of her doesn’t know that.

No it’s not Justin Bieber… It’s One Direction’s Harry Styles. I asked her to forward me the messages and she said she “deleted” them. She said her friend gave Harry her number and Harry texted her. And her friend gave Harry’s number to her. So either her friend is tricking her or she’s lying to me.

Harry styles is only interested in women in their thirties.

I think it may be a little bit of both. She wants to believe this is really happening and doesn’t want someone else telling her what she already knows is true, that it’s all a hoax. So she doesn’t want you to see the texts and tell her it’s fake.

Or she’s lying, one of the two.

Yes. I know that(: And that’s how I know she or her friend is lying.

Thank you. I feel bad for my friend since Harry’s mother tweeted her older sister last night, so my friend is really jealousof her and probably wants to seem like she has “connections” with celebs or whatever. And her sister got to go to a 1D concert, and she didnt. So that might explain things.

Do I don’t think she has ill-intentions toward you, she just wants all of this to be true so badly that she will keep it alive as long as she can, even though there is no way she doesn’t know the truth already. I think she’s in denial.

this is not true in any way shape or form. no shes not really talking to a celebrity. trace the number, call the number yourself and see who it is if these messages are real. if she wont give you the number then shes lying :P
