Wrong help: Do I have a lisp? - Help.com

Do I have a lisp?

Or something similar?

There is SOMETHING wrong with the way I pronounce my “s”’s. I just don’t know WHAT. It’s not a lisp per se (I don’t go “th” instead of “s”), but I don’t know what it is! People have asked me about it before and I have even heard it when my voice is played back to me, BUT NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT IT’S CALLED.

I know this isn’t the most dignified of voice clips, but I do appreciate any help! :)

I noticed what you were talking about, but I wouldn’t call it a lisp. It was barely noticeable, don’t worry about it. I really only heard what you might have been referring to near the middle of the clip.

It didn’t sound like a lisp to me. It sounded very clear and easily understood with no noticeable speech impediments. I think you have a lovely voice I would not worry about it at all. If that is all that is wrong with you, you are a 10 in my book.

Not only do you have a lisp but you are left-handed and a lesbian.

Thanks for playing our home game.

I wouldn’t call it a lisp either, but it does sound like you hang on pronouncing the S a tad too long and too sharply.

I wouldn’t really worry about it though, you have a beautiful voice and your english is better than most Americans.

I used to talk like this when I was younger. As dr Jackson said, it sounds like your pronouncing the “s” too long. What cause it for me though was agap between my two front teeth. The shape my mouth made while using the “s” sound had extra air escaping through the teeth and made the s sound sharp, (and ocassionally a whistle. it was embarassing)

Honestly, you sound very clear and concise. You’ve nothing to be self-consious about. :)
