What are your opinions on Online Public High Schools

Im thinking about asking my parents to look into Online Public High Schools next year. I had a really hard time in school this year (8th grade) I had alot of trouble socially, i only have about 5 friends and alot of the rest of the kids dislike me including all my friends friends. I also struggled with math falling it with a 68 and berly passing my other classes mostly because i diddent hand my work in. I also have very stong personal dislike for the public school system in america. I spend most of my free time on the computer already so i thought it may be a good fit. Im trying to learn more about Online Public High Schools before i ask my parents about it, so does anyone go to one that could tell me how it is or give me any other info?

I think online schools are fine, though I bet some private ones are better than public ones. The issue is that you would be using them to run from your problems. If you have social issues, you should really work on your social skills in normal school with other kids.

I think it would be a very poor substitute for being able to interact with your teachers and fellow students.

Online school will only make your social problems worse, not better, sure it may be cool to not have to worry about it for a while, but eventually you are going to have to go out in the world and deal with people and trust me, this is so much harder to do as an adult.

Sure it is tough now, but that is the point, you are free to make mistakes and learn from them in the context of school, i know you probably don’t see it that way, but if you can find some way to work on your social skills now while at school, it will make the rest of your life so much easier.
