Should I take my 14 year old sister to see Magic Mike?

It’s the only movie we can both seem to agree on. She wants to see spider man but I REALLY don’t and I want to see brave but she REALLY doesn’t. We have free passes but I just don’t think it’s a good idea to take my kid sister to an R rated stripper movie.

My guess is that she can handle it, but it’s your call.
If you think it will be too awkward for you to sit and watch it together, then don’t.

I’m not worried about her handling it, I’m worried about the message it will send her if I take her to this stripper movie. I want to be a good example as big sister.

Yeah that’s your call. I guess you could talk to her about it before/after so she knows your stance on all the moral issues in the movie? Or you could just not go.

I know it’s my call, but I’m not sure which is the right one to make. Hence the post.

First of all, it’s a movie about a stripper. Seriously. You can’t take a 14 year old to something like that!

But, here’s why it’s rated R:

Magic Mike is rated R: for pervasive sexual content, brief graphic nudity, language and some drug use.

Graphic nudity, albeit brief, could mean brief images of full frontal. It’s rated R, so really, anything could be in it. Pervasive sexual content? Dude, I think your sister is too young for this.

PS I heard Spiderman was actually really good.

Spider man looks so BORING though it’s the EXACT same movie just with different people. If we want to watch spider man we can just watch it on DVD with that guy who was in Seabiscuit.

I watched the trailer, it looks like the exact same movie I already own.

Well, I don’t want to see it. The ONLY movie we can agree on is Magic Mike. And I just don’t know about that. My mom has expressed wanting to see it in front of her as well, so I don’t know.

Well thanks for NOTHING help.com you take my post off for talking about a MOVIE basically saying ’screw you’ I don’t have all day here I wanted to leave a while ago but I was hung up on this but apparently children can’t even handle the idea of a MOVIE they better not show the trailers on tv with those shirtless guys there might be kids watching, and if they figure out what it’s about they’ll be scarred for life!

i think it’s fine. i saw it and it’s actually really good. i wouldn’t worry about the content. it’r really not that bad. it’s not like it’s a porno. it’s actually pretty pg-13 compared to other movies that’re out there. (boogie nights comes to mind)

We ended up seeing Ice Age, it was disappointing as expected. Once again help.com, thank you for screwing me over.
