Yahoo messenger and hotmail messenger both have stoped working right.

I have vista home premium 32 bit computer thats 5 yr’s old. for 5 yr’s both worked great. i could click on a link and the web page would open to **** email or Im someone. Now the last 4 weeks I can sign on both and when i click on a link on the messenger window it says can not open web page, are you sure your typing in the right name. well you know when you click on a link you don’t know the web page name so it will open, it just opens automaticly. So I can not use either service and i can’t figure out why both messengers have stoped responding now. can any one help me out?? I have uninstalled and re-installed them both and i still can’t use them. i have run super anti spyware and malwaerbyts and my Avast anti-virus programs and not 1 thing is wrong. I hope some can help me find a missing file that opens up the link on both programs?? help. thanks. Or something else is missing why both yahoo and hotmail messenger will not work and its driving me crazy why I can’t use both program. Please some one help me thanks.

If it says “can not open web page, are you sure your typing in the right name” then is something wrong with your internet connection. Check the settings!

Zirbel, you asked whats my OS? well did you read my 1st post. It said I have windows vista home premium 32 bit computer. And I can add the vista computer has 2Gb Ram, 2 CPU’s at 1.9Ghz, G965 express chipset for video, and directx 11 and Avast anti-virus program and computer name is gateway GM5420. So where do i go to reset IE 9 so my both messengers will work like they did for 5 years and now they both have stopped working right and I can not figure out what happened to my vista why i can’t click on any link on either messenger so it will open up a web page to **** yahoo email and hotmail email from clicking on a link on the messenger window program?? thanks. i hope some one understands what I’m talking about here?? Thanks for any help>link

Sorry, yes, you said it, but I overlooked it. Too bad, sorry!

Well:
I would try to leave Internet Explorer for ever, which is anyway one of the worst browser!
Download and install
Chrome (for free): https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome…
Or
FireFox (for free): http://www.firefox-start.com/download…

Furthermore try to solve the MSN problem this way:

Go to Control Panel > User Accounts
Manage Users Accounts > Advanced Tab
Manage Password
Remove all of the passwords in the list
Shut down MSN Massanger and start it back up
You should be able to login now

Additionally:
Run your PC as administrator
Make sure your administrator account has a password associated with MSN

Hope it helps.

Ona windows computer the user accounts page is all set up to only to change names or passwords for the main administrator account and I can not delete those passwords. and the only other passwords to change were for my secondary user account so a friend can use my computer and can not change anything important.
there was no where that said manage user accounts and then click on advanced tab and get rid of all passwords. You must be using a Mac computer and not a windows computer. on a windows computer you have to have a name and password for administrator account. and you said make sure your admin. acct hs a password associated with msn.
well there is no place to find where to get a password for MSN messenger acct or for a yahoo messenger acct on the user accounts page to set up passwords and names.

My given advises above are for WINDOWS and not for Mac!
You sound quite stubborn.
At least try it out! Or hire somebody who can do it for you.
