hair color help?

i have naturally brown hair. its kind of this color: http://tadkanews.com/admin/uploads/pa...
I dyed it red using garnier nutrisse 66 true red. It came out a nice red at first, but now its fading to a weird purplish color, like this(but mine isint as pretty of a shade): http://www.haircolourideas.com/images...

does anyone have any suggestions of what kind of hair dye to use and how to take care of my hair so the color doesnt fade as fast? I know red dyes tend to fade faster, but maybe there is a certain kind of shampoo I can use to help the color stay in longer?
