college help: I am taking a Statistics course in college. - Help.com

I am taking a Statistics course in college.

It’s a 4-week summer course, 3 credits. I was stupid and surfed the internet through every class, I have only a vague idea of what’s going on, I failed the midterm, and the final is in 2 days. Help!

All I say is learn from this lesson. Cram, Cram, Cram, get a good night sleep before the test, and hope for the best.

Romans 12:12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

It would take a miracle for you to pass the final - and even if you did, I’m assuming you’d have to make almost a perfect score just to make it possible for you to pass the class.

I don’t believe in God and I don’t know if you do either. But if I were in your position I think I’d probably start - because praying seems like your only hope right about now.

You are screwed. Two days until the final? It is all over but the crying…

At least you don’t have a lot of time tied up in this miserable failure of an experiment.

Let me revise my first statement. It may not take a miracle for you to pass the final. But to make a good enough score - considering it’s not too late - on the final to pass the class will presumably require a miracle.

You should go to your professor and ask them what - if anything at all - you can do to help yourself pass the final and hopefully pass the class. That would be the first thing I’d do in your situation. Of course, when you wait until the last possible moment to seek help most instructors will tell you their hands are tied because you didn’t bother to do anything about it sooner. They will tell you in as polite a fashion as possible that you dug yourself into a deep hole. And whilst you were digging yourself into the hole, you and only you could willfully decide to seek help or not. If you don’t get help when you first realize you’re having problems, then you’re just doing yourself a grave disservice.

There is a high probability that you will fail the course: around 98 percent.

Next time, don’t goof off!

For all those who are wondering, I crammed like crazy for the final, attempted some extra credit assignments, and made out with a D, which is a very narrow pass. Thanks y’all!
