The Warrior Cats books. There are, I think, two different series, but in the first series I believe there are like seven books. They are AMAZING and when I was that age I was in love with them.
Also, the Enchanted Forest Chronicles. They are called “Talking to Dragons,” and etc. Those are good, too.
Eragon is an intelligent, but not too old themed, good and creative series.
Dragonspell was probably my favorite book growing up.
I really liked Cirque Du Freak, too, but looking back I probably shouldn’t of been reading those at my age. They are kind of…different.
Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket (is that his name?)
I was hooked on that series, oh my gosh.
Um. I feel like there are so many more. Oh!
the Fudge series by judy blume is very child friendly and funny. I liked those, too.
hmm not that twilight crap. let’s go for THIS! http://www.amazon.com/One-Potato-Two-…

please, please, please, no one shut me down for saying this, but honestly…
it’s a good book series.
the movies are TERRIBLE.
I promise the movies don’t do the books justice.
just sayin.

Or anything by Hugh Hefner. Great author.
hmmm. interesting choice. I would typically disagree however.
i didn’t know hef wrote a book? i’m sure it isn’t children material! even though the bunny image may be cute
try eragos or a wizard and the earthsea
i also recommend any of faulkner books, but that’s high literature
