Why is it swollen?

!

Does anyone know what’s wrong with my fourth toe (second from the left)?
http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7p...

It’s swollen & VERY sore to walk/stand on. At first I thought it was a blister, but after weeks passed & it got worse, I realise it wasn’t. Any ideas on what it is & how to fix it?

Edit: It’s NOT broken. Also, I think it may have started out as a blister. It began when I started wearing new shoes, but it’s been weeks since I’ve worn them.

Maybe it’s broken? Maybe you should see a doctor.

definitely not broken. I’ve broken my toes before. & it’s the skin that’s hurting, the swollen part - not the toe itself.

Maybe gout?

The symptoms are usually as follows:

- Intense joint pain. Gout usually affects the large joint of your big toe, but it can occur in your feet, ankles, knees, hands and wrists. The pain is likely to be most severe within the first 12 to 24 hours after it begins.

- Lingering discomfort. After the most severe pain subsides, some joint discomfort may last from a few days to a few weeks. Later attacks are likely to last longer and affect more joints.

- Inflammation and redness. The affected joint or joints become swollen, tender and red.

It sounds like it, but there wasn’t any severe pain. Just a lingering pain the entire time, & it’s getting worse. & I can’t see a doctor for several weeks (they’re completely booked out).

Well, I suggest getting in ASAP to see what they suggest. Good luck!

Doubt that would work. Most doctors offices will respond to someone who says that with “then call 9-1-1.”
