Each lesson is one hour so I lean towards the lower side and say I burned 746 calories today. (According to livestrong)

Thanks for the links! I’m still a little confused as to the calorie content. Like if I eat 1200 calories, should I be burning 1700 calories? Bc that’s insanity.

I’ll read through the links you guys posted!

You probably burn 1700 calories in a normal day and night.

True, but the nutritionist was giving me calorie intake to maintain my weight, not to lose weight.

I hope so.

i bought a heart rate monitor and that told me how many calories i burn. its the bee’s knee’s :)

whatever you do you need to be able to fuel your workouts. if your doing intense workouts i would suggest at least 1700-1800 a day. theres nothing worse than not eating right and working out. if i do that i just feel like working out is a total waste of time coz im not as good as i would be if i’d have just eaten right.

Oooh I want that!

I’m going to try to eat slowly and only when I’m hungry until I’m satisfied, but not full. I’ll track the calories, but I’m not going to stress too much about it lol it’s not helping. I’ll try to cut out simple carbs from my diet too. I’ll make it like a treat-not a regular meal.

Thanks for the advice!

Yeah, you and Siren are right about that. I guess I’m overthinking things. I’ll stick to the 1100-1200 cal diet.

Lol. Ive been eating mostly fruits and vegetables, but I have this livestrong app on my iPhone where I can input what I eat and it automatically calculates how many calories I’ve eaten. So far, I’ve been good, although I could stand to reduce my overall carb intake and increase my protein intake. My bad days are the days I go out. Tonight I’m having dinner with some friends, so we’ll see how that goes. I need some self control!

So, I want to lose weight and tone up.

I signed up for boxing classes and had my first lesson today! It was intense-800-1000 calories burned in one hour.

Now I’m a little confused as to how many calories I should be consuming a day. If I want to lose a pound a week, I have to burn 500 extra calories a day. I talked to a nutritionist awhile ago who told me I should be consuming 1100-1200 calories a day to lose weight. But my live strong app is telling me I should consume 800 calories.

On the other hand, several websites say eating less than 1200 calories a day is dangerous.

How many calories should I be consuming if I work out 3 times a week?
