If your willing to work hard and possibly relocate there are litterly thousands of unfilled well paying jobs. Factories, Farms, sewer and maintenance, mining, dangerous construction, shipping, ect. Problem is, it’s either long hours, or in the middle of nowhere.

Well you don’t have to relocate your family to make money, just yourself. Plenty of men leave their families to get a job elsewhere. If you can’t leave them, then yeah I guess your chained locally, but if you want something fast and of good pay, then look elsewhere, move there, get enough money saved up, and then move the family.

Until you’ll find a new job you could ask Charities and Non Profit Organizations in Kentucky for temporary help and support for your children and your family: http://www.charity-charities.org/char…

A dress code that required tucked-in shirts and covered tattoos for Kentucky State Parks employees did not violate the civil rights of three fired maintenance workers, a federal appeals court ruled.
Unfortunately this “Kentucky Case” verified that employers can fire employees who have exposed tattoos.

Thats ridiculous! I’m not a fan of tatoo’s but I don’t discriminate or care if someone has them!

I could see if they are required to cover them up and they don’t this being grounds for termination. But I don’t know this guys story so have no comment.

Hopefully the OP comes back that was a good link you sent him.

There are plenty of fields where you can have tattoos, if you’re willing to master the craft.
Welding is what I suggest for you. It pays good but is a lot of work. But with seven kids, it sounds like you will have to work hard no matter what you do.

I heard there are 220 thousand truck driver jobs unfilled in the States. If everything cut lose, apply and you will have a job so you could support your family.

Once again: Did you try seriously to contact the charities in Kentucky?
Or are you too lazy for checking it?

Because: Nobody from here will send you money.

Question is: did your employer REQUEST that you cover your tattoos? If not, you probably have a good case of wrongful termination.

You might want to look at jobs in the Middle East, working for a defense contractor.

That’s what I’m doing.

I see….and understand about not wanting to sue but it was wrong how they did you! I would still file a complaint with the Company so maybe they won’t do this to someone else! Go on craigslist select your state and town I just looked under skilled trades and there are several jobs you would qualify for also call one or a couple of the labor company’s in your area if u need help finding some let me know and I will look them up. Also on craigslist you can post free what you do so if someone is looking your info will be there. Not that it is much money but do file for unemployment right away. Put the reason of your termination which will qualify you for unemployment. Then apply also for aid in food for your family. Again neither is that much but it is more then what you are not getting right now! You have some good skills and work history so you should be able to get another job pretty soon. Also call the company you left before the one that just let you go and they might rehire you. Good Luck I understand how stressfull your situation is. Be patient and keep looking this will all work out in time. Hopefully soon. Do keep us posted.

You may also wish to file a complaint with the EEOC. The employer has a duty to “warn” employees of dress code infractions.
