Do you pray?
Have you, like our great political leaders, been praying for rain? Have you noticed that it doesn’t seem to be working? Should we pray a little harder?

Nope. Well, not anymore.
When I was around 6-10 I used to pray by this little stream in the park. It was the only sacred place I knew. I never felt it was right to pray for myself though so I prayed first for my family then for the rest of the world.
It was an odd ritual but it did give me a mild comfort. I felt like I was communing with nature I bit.

At some point I did, then stuff happened and I think I lost my way in that respect.

perhaps you need to reconsider. the nature gods appear to be very unhappy right now

No for myself.
It has been raining where I live, but I doubt that is because of your political leaders.
click here to see where God’s chosen-ones live. see those green areas? those are the places where God is providing the blessing of rain. all the rest of you apparently did something really bad and now you living in someplace that is very hot and uncomfortable and all your food is turning into ashes. http://www.weather.gov/

Well it does make a lotta people feel good. It doesn’t seem likely that they are communing with an old bearded dude in the sky, or with anything but themselves really, but I’m still not sure it doesn’t work for “anything”.

it’s Superstition that praying affects on raining.if praying was helpful for raining so Saudi Arabia would be full of green tress!

let me to tell you a story:
years ago people have gone for rain praying but only a small kid has an umbrella!
it shows that no one don’t hope that praying causes raining.

yes,god loves everybody whether good or bad.
I don’t pray for any weather phenomenon. I pray God’s will be done. He’s been batting 1000 so far….
But to answer your question, YES indeed I do pray. Couldn’t get through the day without Him.

no… he doesn’t hate them. he just destroys nations out of love… http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?…

God does not hate those He created, just the sins they choose to commit.

what kind of choose do you mean?
c’mon people! you’re missing the point! this isn’t about your religious beliefs! and yes… this does affect you. it affects everyone.
There is a massive drought right now in the US. global food prices will spike. famine and political unrest around the world are likely to follow.
You kind of put everyone off point when you said God hates a nation and wants to destroy them..out of love…kind of disturbing

No I’m not. But “or…. maybe God just hates Saudi Arabia” just threw me off
My apologies MarlinTheFish

I would like to say that was me but alas, i only just read the post and begun praying for rain. Just to say Marlin, any additional rain that falls from now. That’s my prayer that did that.
i pray, not for rain though. if it rains, it rains. if it doesnt well then crap. :P

I assumed I was, as I didn’t click the link. But, speaking of prayer far more directly affects my life than either politicians or global crises, so I just reacted to your tagline. Sorry.

ah ha! so you do see a link there. :P
it’s partly my fault. I should have realized the intro would be too provocative.
but global crises affect everyone. it usually affects poorer countries more than richer ones. but the times are changing. America will no longer be insulated like before.
