I feel so ill sometimes I feel like my life is slipping me by.

I have a brain condition and it feels like no one cares. My doctor is awful, it’s difficult seeing a consultant and I don’t have the energy to turn up at a&e and wait for hours. My boyfriend doesn’t seem to care. He expects me to keep the house clean and cook his food but I just feel to ill to cope. I want to scream. Why doesn’t anybody care? Even if someone just made me a cup of tea it would make my day. I end up being so lonely.

Why doesn’t anybody care?

those people who are struggling don’t care because they are struggling and feel their problems are more important than someone else’s.

those people who are doing fine don’t want to care because they are too busy trying to enjoy their life and don’t want to take the time to understand your pain.

I am on the other side of your situation. I am the caretaker. I think that what happens is this : Your boyfriend goes out into the world and deals with the world’s problems and stress, and then he comes home and his work must continue, it just doesn’t stop. That does not mean that he is right. I have 2 suggestions that have helped my husband and I try and work together more: 1) see a counselor, you have no idea the power of words coming from someone who is out side of your circle. They have much more impact because the counselor has no agenda and is not afraid of hurting feelings if necessary.
2) Hire someone. If the house needs to be cleaner for your boyfriend, he can either do it himself, hire someone for a couple of hours a month, or quit his bitchin’.

If you are serious about this guy, get counseling, if not, get out. It has been a long hard road for my husband and I through his disability, and if we weren’t married already I am not sure I could have made it.
I wish you all the best, and I hope you get better soon.
