Has anyone just realized they have ptsd?

I am 45 and dealing with it now from childhood…and would love to chat with someone about it. Maddy

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) since you’re a child? What did happen to you that time?

B.t.w.: There ist a helpful PTSD forum: https://www.ptsdforum.org/c/

The exact question I wanted to ask as zirbel. PTSD since early childhood? I heard it’s more likely happen to people in the military but I guess it could happen to anyone at any age.

I’m in Afghanistan right now. I’ve seen a number of people with PTSD. It affects people in different ways.

Strangely enough, the military has been treating it by letting soldiers with PTSD play rather violent military video games. It kind of “gets it out of their system.”

I’ve dealt with things like this by simply accepting the fact that life is tough, and we’re likely to take some hard knocks down the road. At the end of that road, however, I believe that the Pearly Gates await for those who endure to the end.

In the meantime, I would suggest therapy and talking it out. Talking out things tends to remove their power over our lives.

Think of yourself not as a victim, but as a survivor.

One bad-a$$ survivor!
