Your opinion on wigs in public

Hello! I really love several kinds of hairstyles- crazy coloured but also natural colours and long/short/curly/flat etc.
But, my hair isn’t great and it’s not strong enough to keep looking good after dying it or curling it and all that.

I’ve seen really amazing wigs around, both realistic and ‘is that fake or no?’ wigs, and I thought I could start wearing those since I’m going to college and everyone can get used to it from the start.

What is your opinion on wearing wigs in public, natural or not-natural looking, even though the person has normal hair underneath? [So no medical reason for wearing wigs.]

I think people should do whatever they like to be more comfortable and confident. I would think someone wearing a wig for no apparent reason a bit odd, but it wouldn’t cause me to treat them differently in any way.

I think it’s totally fine and it would be a ton of fun! But don’t expect everyone to like it. Some people will probably ask questions or criticize you for it as if it’s their business… but I’m sure lots of others will think you are awesome!

Another thing to consider is that college life is a big adjustment, and you might have trouble finding time to keep your wigs looking nice.

But I say go for it! Even if you do it for the entire first semester and then stop, most people will forget about it by sophomore year - and then you can reinvent yourself again :)

I think it is unusual, but not that weird. If it makes you feel good about yourself, go for it.

I think it’s really up to the person and would be fine. It sounds fun to be able to wear a wig as a choice and not because one feel they have to due to medical reasons or if they’ve damaged/pulled their hair out. I don’t think it should be anyone’s business of concern whether or not someone else wears hair that isn’t theirs.

I used to have a serious hair extensions addiction when i was a teenager lol so I don’t see wigs any different lol, girls wear hair extensions everywhere sometimes really noticably :/ whatever people need to wear to make them feel more confident is up to them.
