Are you a UK parent?

I need your HELP!

The UK Government has new proposals to allow non qualified teachers to teach in UK schools. This means our children’s education may be placed in the hands of teachers without basic qualifications such as English and Maths GSCE let alone a Bachelors degree. This policy will mainly be affecting children from the lower economic backgrounds and the reasoning behind employing unqualified teachers is simply because it costs less.

I have attached an epetition which gives more information and is asking for signatures to oppose the use of unqualified teachers in UK State schools. If the numbers signing this petition is large enough, we can get the debate discussed in the UK Parliament. Please help and protect the education of all UK children in State schools.

Thanks

Well actually my friend it was Mr Gove’s idea. Don’t worry, in the posh/private schools, they will have proper qualified teachers whereas in the poorer areas, we will have what can be afforded.

Let’s just get it straight, a qualified teacher in London MUST get at please £25,000 to £27,000 a year. Many schools are replacing qualified teachers with Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs), Teaching Assistants (TAs) and Cover Supervisors (CSs). A salary for a HLTA in Inner London is around £19,00 pro rata. They are paid usually 43 weeks a year at at 27.5 hours not full time which takes their salaries down to around £11,000. HLTA are the best paid of the three!

Not all unqualified teachers have basic qualifications such as GSCE English and Maths nor a degree and they are going to be able to teach whole classes.

Gove and Cameron think it’s a way forward. I hope you’ve signed and please forward it on.

Best wishes
