I dated a guy who is extremely wealthy and he continues to intimidate me after 10 years.

I can’t take it anymore. He leaves harassing messages on my voicemail. He tells me he’ll tell all his friends about my personal life. He even has a friend stalking me. The police said they cannot do anything. How do I stop him? I just can’t seem to ignore him. I am getting help, but he’s going too far.

My dear Anon, it’s pure BS that the police cannot do anything. You go to see the chief of police/sheriff and say, “There are NOW laws against stalking. Now, if you don’t want to come to my aid and enforce the law, I will go to the media and see what I can do about getting a grand jury convened to consider a charge of dereliction of duty on your part.”

And do it!

You should also consult an attorney, as this person’s actions are tortious, and expose him to civil liability. In other words, you could sue his pants off! In fact, you should engage an attorney to write him a “cease and desist” letter, if nothing else!

Don’t erase any messages. Also notify the phone company and change your landline and cell phone numbers. If you get harassing emails, notify his email provider and send them copies.

Don’t let the police BS you. They need to get their sorry a$$es out from behind those speed guns and actually do something to protect people in most communities!

Notify your male relatives of the situation. I know that if someone were stalking my daughter or my wife, I would be taking measures to protect them!

You need to go down to the court house and file a restraining order against him. If he continues to harass you after he is served he will be in violation and they will arrest him.

This will also cover him having someone else stalk you as well.

Be careful!

Have you asked him nicely to leave you alone, a polite letter (keep a copy) would do, or is it past that.

You can ask the court to inflict a communication ban.
See an attorney to arrange it for you!
