What usually causes chest pain?
Someone told me that chest pain is never anything serious, it just happens when you are very nervous. Is that true?

Having chest pains is caused by not going to the doctor and getting a simple remedy.
If you want to test what that person told you, put a 5 ton weight on your chest and convince yourself it’s not serious as it crushes you to death ^^
i get chest pain all the time. and yes it happens when im nervous or really upset/hurt.
for some one who is sensitive (like me) u can get chest pain a LOT!

I get that very often, as well. Both chest pain and pressure. One of my parents has a heart disease and I’ve been wondering if I have it, too. But on the other hand, I’m a v. nervous person, so it might be just that..
Well, you could simply look at when you get the chest pains then.
But it could be a little bit of both. Having a heart disease might make you more prone to nervousness making you have chest pains, for example. But only a doctor could really put your mind at rest.
in that case, yes i would go to the doc and check on it. it could be either.

The thing is, I often get them randomly. Always after alcohol, though. Still, I’m usually stressed most of the time, more or less..
I don’t really want to see a doctor because of some issues.

What do you mean?
Alcohol, hmm… I avoid the stuff, so I’m not sure the impact it has on a person too well. Ah, read this:

I know it’s going to sound awkward but I completely freak out when strangers touch me and when I have to undress in front of them.
I don’t drink that much, but I’ve noticed it always happens a day after a night out, sometimes it’s really bad.
I’m going to check the link, thanks.

When I’m nervous, I get the urge to poop. No lie, I’m not trying to be gross or anything. It just makes e sick to my stomach, and well, that causes me to need to use the restroom I guess.”
But in all my times of being nervous, I have never, ever, ever had chest pains.

I actually know one person with the same problem as you have… When he’s under a lot of stress, he has to visit the toilet all the time.
Maybe it’s just different for everyone? I’ve no clue..

haha, well then you would be one of the lucky ones. I had to live my life with this chest pain; although I get it less wen it comes to nervous and rather when I’m hurt more, but I still get it. the more nervous (meaning reaaaaally nervous) the more pain I get. (I get nervous quickly and easily which is quiet a problem) its not a pleasant feeling.

From what the link I read earlier said, perhaps it’s due to low oxygen as a side effect of drinking.
Thanks for input, everyone.. Guess I will have to get it checked out someday because it hurts even now, damnnit, even my left hand feels weird because of it.
