Does anybody know if a lap top charger for a compaq presario CQ60 will work for an Hp pavillion?

You need to check.

1) does the plug fit in the hole (try this with the power not connected)
2) is the voltage right
3) What watt, is it powerful enough
4)polarity is the positive and negative the right way round

It is ok if the volts don’t match perfectly as long as the charger is LESS than the required voltage. If the laptop calls for 9.5 volt you can use a charger that only spits out 6.0 volts. It will take a little bit longer to fully charge the batteries is all. Do not operate the laptop while plugged into a smaller charger though. Always unplug and operate off the battery.
