If i wanted to walk from Minnesota to Montana could I?

Ok so i’m going to be homeless in 3 weeks, but i have a gf that lives in montana and she says i can stay with her if i can get there. If i had enough supplies and money could i walk (i won’t have enough to spend on hotels i’ll just have to camp somewhere) to Montana from Minnesota without getting stopped by the police if i don’t walk on any major highways. Is it legal or no? because everyone has rights and since im 18 i should be able to walk where ever i want as long as i obey the rules.

If you did walk it, you need to realize it could very well take you more than a month, possibly 2. You’re better off looking into a train ticket.
