um..what does God think about todays society?
I don’t know. That’s a good, impossible question. We will never know on this earth. I mean, we can infer from bible context about certain things that God doesn’t like
Proverbs 6
There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.
and you could also infer that from the commandments, the things that God wants us to do, that people who follow them are probably more in favor with him. But I don’t think God cares about things that have to do with todays world, like cellphones, tv, whatever the covers on the magazenes are. I think what he cares about it us.
But then again, I don’t know. No one does.
i think he sees about what we see when we look at an ant hill
Except I never knew the heart of ant, or read it’s mind, or heard it’s prayers.

great proverb, thats one of my favorite books in the bible. my favorite is ecclesiastes where the writer describes how everything he has done in life all the pleasures and riches hes shared in has done him no good and that he realizes that everything we strive after if not done so with out god is said to be “striving after wind” something we can always hope for but something we may never keep? does that mean anything to you?
yeah he probably does se us like a bunch of ants except that ants by design do what they were created to do humans however do what ever they feel like doing instead of what they have to do…
I think if he existed he would love everyone very much and not be surprised or disappointed by what humans have accomplished. I’ve heard people say that the end is surely near because there is more sin and disaster than ever before, but people have invented ingenious ways to reach out and help each other, murder rates are down, standards of living are up, no massive plagues have ravaged our population in a long time, and lots of people are good to each other. Maybe he’d be sad that a smaller fraction of people believed in him than ever before, but perhaps seeing that along with all of progress made by mankind would ease his sorrow.

What does it mean by “never keep”. How does god allow you to keep these things?
…I just know what people tell me
well of course.
i’m just saying comparing man to god is like comparing a lawnmower engine to a 300,000hp 32 cylinder turbo diesel passenger ship.
we will never begin to coprehend the power of god, or what he thinks of us.
god is 100000000000000×1000000000000 to the power of 10000000000000.
i imagine he isn’t very happy with our pigish, unconcerning ways. nor is he impressed with how far we’ve come in the last 40 billion years.
but hey, that’s why we’re the humans.

well the writer sais that all they have done in life fades away, all material gifts and splendor fade but what they recieve from God lasts for eternity.

oh yes! didn’t solomon write that? or david. I don’t remember. Ecclessiates is a wonderful book to study because it is all about life; how to live it, how to not live it, how to deal with things, how to handle situations. It’s absolutely wonderful and very helpful. I’m surprised I don’t see it mentioned here, since it has a lot of helpful answers in tit.

yes i do mean an afterlife i know it’s been debated about for centuries and my intent on this subject was not to anger but just to start a good topic of convorsation so i don’t mean to offend any one who does not believe in god but i do believe the writer reffers to his wages earned from god as wages in the afterlife…… i know that was a weird answer

No no, just clarifying. I didn’t mean to sound facetious.

thats really cool Romans is a sick book paul was a beast haha!! i like James in the new testiment pretty crazy stuff especially when he sais to take joy in sufferings i mean thats not an easy thing to do but look at jesus he took the ultamate suffering and in doing so found ultimate joy in helping thoughs he loved.
here’s a question.
the only man that never sinned, his name was jesus christ of nazereth.
he was delivered upon this earth by god almighty. in life he was a teacher.
he showed us the way to salvation. and then he paid the ultimate price for all of us. by those standards, every friggin documentary on the history channel should be about him.
but for some reason, though the name is common, nobody seems to care anymore.
why?

people chose to not care, to not believe, to pursue their own self-minded interests.
people don’t know better.

thats so true and it’s sad but i think that when the United States decided to take out God from Government well he doesn’t force love so i believe our society chose to turn away from him unless thoughs who wanted to still remain true to him did so on their own time in church or their own homes. you just don’t here about peoples faith anymore like you used to even 20 or 30 years ago. it’s very sad but thats a ligitamate question in which could be one of these questions in it’s intierty.

the ultimate joy, I always knew it saved us, but I hadn’t thought about it like that in a long time. It makes sense. take joy in sufferings, that must be the hardest but best lesson of all.
yeah perhapse that could be the reason why it was only or could only be achieved by one person jesus christ to be exact. but if you look as paul too and the other apostles of christ all of the 12 folowers of christ were marderd for their belief in christs teachings and so many more out of countless generations for finding Christs word to be true so maby the joy christ expirienced is still to this day felt just not as sevarily…????
Thats something to think about.

indeed,
i believe this young country has met a bitter end my friends.
what with all the courrupt politicians and idiots in congress.
the likes of obbama in charge we’ll be gone by the end of this year
yeah which is why people who really believe in The God must pull together, forget about denominations such as Catholic or Protostant, baptist or even jewish and come together as one group of believers to not so much as try to stand up to the world of sin but to stand together for eachother so our own lives can be better even if others don’t give a **** about us we will still have thoughs who believe in one another!
soooo this is actually turning out to be good solid conversation!!

“For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.” Matthew 24:37-39
“UNAWARE”
This is the state of the majority of todays society.
It is a deaf and blind generation that is mostly unpreoccupied with the purposes and will of an eternal God who has it all planned.
One word I would describe it? “ASLEEP”
He is awesome creator i don’t think if there is a GOD ( and there is ) He will not think anything Because he know everything He is just painting painting and painting what he want to paint ;-)
I talk to god and god talks back to me . We have a intimate healthy relationship. She uses my hands to move and mouth to speak. Anyone know how I can become famous?
