I have been having chest pain, back ache and it hurts to touch my breastbone (particularly on the left side.) A couple months ago I was tested for Mitral valve prolapse. That came back negative. I was told without any tests or my doctor seeing me, that I have costochondritis. It hurts to bend down and I’m concerned with how to deal with this. Where I work, I stock boxes weighing anywhere from 1-40lbs. Being that I am only 118 lbs myself, the heavier boxes are difficult to handle without the constant chest pain. I’m wondering what others do to help this pain. It’s uncomfortable to have a seatbelt across my chest. I get stressed out fairly easily, and that’s extremely painful. I get very tired, very easily. I’ve read online and it seems like this could be a long term thing. Should I go to get tests done to be sure it isn’t something more serious? Should I try to work nights when there is less stocking? I’ve been taking anti-inflammatory pills and they haven’t helped much. What else might help?
