There are plenty of reasons :)

Spelling, grammar, and punctuation are all important. Proper writing helps our automated systems work better and people will be more willing to answer intelligently written posts.

I mean to say there are ways to get more answers to your post. Blaming the potential answerers is not likely to help, but writing better questions will.

Anyway, I was just quoting the built-in recommendation, it is not my words.

I have spent hours reading and re-reading posts by people who couldn’t write coherently if their life depended on it. And most of the time I’m the only one to leave any response to those posts. It’s really disappointing to have similarly incomprehensible writings from people who are obviously intelligent enough to adhere to basic language standards. Is there any point in responding and encouraging such terrible behavior? Communication is key to relationships, especially text-based relationships.

usually we don’t answer to muppets
