So you think you have it BAD”
i worked with a man (Tom) many years ago,
Last November Tom was in an explosion at his work, it could have been my son,
but he got the day off cause he wanted to work Christmas to get more $$
Tom was in a drug induced coma for 2 months because of the pain,
he was burned over 70% of his body, my son had told me his grandkids won’t come near him.
He’s covered in cadaver skin, his face/cheeks are sunken in,
like if you squeezed your mouth together to make fish face. He was a handsome man.
Guess i can’t complain,
my friend from chuch called & said she could drive me tomm

Glad you have a ride for tomorrow. And glad you realize that you don’t have it so bad! Time to get back to that good mood ; )
I can’t imagine. Somethings are so horrible, I wish I didn’t know about them.
But it humbles you. And breaks your heart.
God bless Tom.
That is most unfortunate. I imagine your son is thanking his lucky stars.
I’m sorry to hear about Tom.

Right there with you, when i talked with him i tried not to show my
the only word i can think of is horror, i tried to stay calm
asked him how he’s doing, and nice to see him out and a bout
The best thing you can do for someone this has happened to is visit them as often as you can and learn to relax your facial expressions. The person can feel and see the look on your face which makes it harder for them. If you can just act normal and be cheerful this will make a huge differance to him. He must already know he is deformed from this and now needs to go on and make life the best as possible.
These are situations that we all can be thankful for what we have. I’m sorry for Tom and yet thankful it was not your son!
Sorry to hear this Griffin and glad you get to go see him!
Next time i see him or his wife I’m gonna invite him to this site
Penguino put it in good word how we all help on this site
She helped me in wording this site
Impressive on my resume
Made me sound real smart,
that was a laugh :)

They could fix his face more later maybe.
i had talked with his wife couple months ago
she was saying he had had several surgeries
and had many more to go
I think that’s a wonderful idea - inviting him to this site. We’re a very hospitable bunch too. :)
It can happen to anyone at any minute. I thank God for all my good fortune every day.
I thank God for so many things too. Despite my weak moments, doubts and all, He has always protected me from so much.
I hope Tom gets better.
See if you can contact his grandkids.
Tell them I said that they suck!
A man lived with my family for a week or so who had been horribly burned. He had just one side of his body left, and all of that was still scar tissue. Yet he had a wonderful sense of humor and liked to scare little children ^^
If that ever happens to me, I want to have the same mindset he had. His relationship with God was extremely helpful to him, he’d said.

Not really a friend just some one who worked same place as me.
Maybe i should mind my own business, not get involved
They told me at work today that i talk to the customers TOO MUCH
Some guy from where i use to work reported me to my new manager
I am so hurt, maybe i should just keep to myself
How did your new manager react to the (presumably bad) news? Surely gathering a support group for people at your old job is a good thing?

He said he wasn’t sure if it was me, the on duty manager said it was.
some one made a comment bout his Mountain Dew he was baying it was bad,
i told him today that wasn’t me, i could give a crap what people drink
So i was told not to say anything, Fine, Fine Fine
But things went ok today
Glad things went ok. Sounds like your manager is just trying to appease the customers and your job is safe.

Thanks but they just cut all us part timers hours
my 21 hrs for next week are now 10.5
Sad now :(
Retailing sucks. Hope you can find something different soon. It’s the hardest work for the lowest pay!

I actually enjoyed working retail. No the pay is not great, but I liked the people I worked with and the customers. The days went by fast because there was always work to be done.
Me too. I like talking with people, although i was told not too
but have always liked helping people
Try working in the caring profession’s, so much more rewarding!

That’s the problem, i’m caring,
a little too at times
I don’t think you can ever be too caring. Some people either have been hurt by someone getting too close, or don’t like other people in their “business”.
That’s terrible like the woman who got her face ripped off by a chimp :( certainly puts any problems I might have or think I might have into perspective.
