question help: So I’ve gotten myself an interview… - Help.com

So I’ve gotten myself an interview…

…but I have no idea what to wear!

I’m 21, female and living in England.
I recently received an email asking me to come along for an interview at a Graphic Design company to be a Junior Designer.

It’s well known that arty careers are much more lax about clothing during working hours and that being overdressed can sometimes be a little detrimental.

My question is, what on earth should I wear?!

My initial idea was a slim fitting pair of fresh black jeans with a nice neutral pair of heels, fitted shirt (either tucked into or left out) minimal accessories and a presentable face with nice hair.

I want to be smart but I’ve read that it is important that you show a little of your personality through a casual aspect of your interview outfit.

Help!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Beth.

Don’t dress like you’re going to paint the storage shed! ;-)

I personally think your idea of what to wear is fine . . . but you should do some “G2″ (intelligence work) and try to spy out what they are wearing! Then dress at least as well . . . and preferably bump it up a bit!
