how do i change my account from an office 365 account to a hotmail account?

my school gave me a email account on hotmail and now hotmail wont let me on cuz its an office 365 account. so i cant check my email

I do not know what an “office 365″ account is. Hotmail is a web based email, e.g. the emails do not download to your hard drive. Could that be the issue?

Why do the two separate emails need to be combined in the first place? Keep hotmail hotmail and Office office.
