Thought help: I have to paint a canvas for a little boy, but I don’t know what would impress his grandma. - Help.com

I have to paint a canvas for a little boy, but I don’t know what would impress his grandma.

Little boys like cars, trucks, deer, baseball, things like that right? He’s not very old so i think it would be more of a decoration for his room than something personal to him. As in, it’s more for his grandmother. (who asked me to paint it for him)
what are some good ideas? I thought of maybe painting dinosaur, or tire tracks, but I just have no clue. Google wasn’t helpful, nor pinterest.
:(

If I were a little boy I would probably like dinosaur robots, but only if they have superpowers. I hope that helps.

A picture of the world might be nice.

The world could be a mountain with a yellow-brick road up it.

He might have specific interests. For example, I stayed at my uncle’s house once, and my five-year-old boy cousin really really really liked trains. They were his only favorite thing. I might not have ever known that if I wasn’t there having to be with him a lot.

I asked her what he liked but all she said was “cars” so I’m guessing that means firetrucks, garbage trucks, race cars, truck, etc.
but he’s only 2 or 3, so I really don’t think he’ll care either way..I don’t know, maybe I can paint a robot dinosaur riding a train transporting cars.

Everything you paint is wonderful. Maybe you could paint an artist thinking about what to paint for a little boy and then copy the canvas from that picture.

I just didn’t say it right then. In the first painting you would paint an artist who has painted a picture for a little boy. And then that wonderful picture you painted in the painting would be the one to take out and present to them.

Well, first draw a painter. Not just any painter, draw a painter who is great at coming up with wonderful pictures. And then have the painter paint something. Very simple. One good thing to paint is a day at the beach, and another good thing is a picnic.

Well, that sounds good to me, but I’m not the genius painter that you could paint, so I don’t have the best ideas. Perhaps you could paint Maurice Sendak crossed with M.C. Escher and Andy Warhol and see what he decides to paint.

You could paint a picture of a painter coming up with ideas. Maybe ideas grow in an idea field, or maybe they are hammered together in an idea factory. Or maybe ideas are like two-year-olds, just waking up and looking around the world, wondering what this is all about and if anything is edible other than watermelon.
