For the moderators…

Something has happened to my account. I am chunkymoves, then I changed the name to chunkydore. I logged out accidentally, and then it said the password was incorrect.

Sent a new password, followed the link, now I’m in as chunkymoves , and chunkydore is still logged in.

Help?

it happens to people every so often, it’s a known password problem. I had it happen to me once and the way I fixed it was having a second account and then breaking that one by “accidentally logging out” and it somehow fixed the first account by making the second account broken.

Um, well I’m assuming your on a secondary account right now. Just log out and try logging in. If it says it’s the wrong password but you know it’s right then try logging into your first account and it should work.

Hmmm, no good.

It has created this account when I followed the link it sent, but the old one I can’t access, keeps saying password is wrong. It’s the same email for both

The same thing happened to me. I eventually gave up on trying to access my old account.

Recover former help.com account:

First: Choose an OTHER mail address for THIS account, which is not the same as you have it for your FORMER account.


(Change it there: http://help.com/account/settings )

After done this enter your former account by using the link to a post/reply of an older e-mail-notification sent to your FORMER account.


That way you will enter into your former account where you should change the password (also on http://help.com/account/settings ).
