Find help: I like this guy, but he has a girlfriend. - Help.com

I like this guy, but he has a girlfriend.

I have an irrational fear of his girlfriend! Why? It seems like she’s always trying to find out what we’ve done or something because she’s CONVINCED we did something, and we didn’t!? She scares me so bad! Is this normal and am I the only one that’s had something like this happen? Is there any way to not be totaly terrified of her?

well personally, if he has a girlfriend already you should just back off. hes not available. wait until he is, otherwise his girlfriend has a right to be intimidating

I know I’m in the wrong by liking him, but it’s not really my choice who I like… and I’m not going after him too much really, he likes me too and he’s been making way more moves than me. I know I sound completely horrible for saying this, but I’ve basicly given up on the morals of this whole situation. I’m just letting things run their course. I just want to know how to not be so scared of her, or at least why I’m so scared…

If you’re giving his girlfriend a reason to suspect you’re doing something with her boyfriend that you shouldn’t be doing, then your fear is quite natural and even well-deserved. I think you need to put yourself in his girlfriend’s shoes for a moment. How would you react if you were in a happy relationship and some other girl comes along and starts making advances to your boyfriend? Would you not want to instill fear in this other girl - whether accidentally or by design - so that she might stop trying to steal your boyfriend?

You know what you’re doing is wrong, no matter how much you attempt to rationalize it by blaming the guy for liking you too or flirting with you more. And because you know that it’s wrong, you will naturally feel scared of the person in this picture whom you are doing wrong - his girlfriend.

No wonder she’s trying find out more lol sounds like something will happen sooner or later.

My advice is that you stop giving him any chances and try to stop what’s going on otherwise most likely ALL 3 of you will get hurt, badly! And all friends of yours and theirs will see you as the third person/ boyfriend stealer, and see the guy as once a cheat, always a cheater, please think of the consequence.

abandoning your morals. brilliant. she terrifies you because you’re a boyfriend-snatcher. seriously, maybe if you respected people’s personal boundaries, they’d find you less despicable.
