A girl I use to like is jealous of my new relationship.

I can tell by the way she’s acting. We stayed friends after she broke things off relationship wise with me, but now she seems to give me attitude and it’s just obvious she’s mad or jealous. I sent her a message after she abruptly signed off last night saying “I think you’re mad about this person, but nothing will change between us. Sweet + Heart = her name. Don’t you know basic math?” I said that as a joke since I wanted to cheer her up since I call her sweetheart a lot. She hasn’t responded yet, Do you think my message was the right thing to do? I mean I just want to know how she is feeling and all.

Why did you call your ex sweetheart and does your current gf know about it?

It’s her problem, let her deal with it, unless you also have unresolved feelings for her…

Well, we continued to stay friends, and the sweetheart is a running joke between us because of Peeta and Katniss from the Hunger Games.

I really don’t think having “running joke” pet names is good for a couple that has broken up, especially if one has moved on (supposedly).
