Think I offended someone?

Hi! Someone said to me on facebook “don’t talk to me, i’ve got a lot on my plate”.

So I replied saying “ok, i’ll talk to you after you’ve had dinner then”

If she eats dinner… there would be a lot less on her plate.

She’s stopped talking though. How do I turn it around?

“Lot on my plate” = a lot of things to do, she’s stressed out.

I found your reply funny, but I don’t think she did. D:

You replied in a smart-alecky manner, but she must not have understood it. A mild apology should suffice. Tell her if she wants to talk about things to help ease her burden you are willing to listen. She shouldn’t have to go through this alone unless that is her choice. Give her space but let her know you are close enough by that she can reach out at any time.

don’t worry about it. just give her space. she’s not talking because she’s clearly busy.

I’m always offending people, don’t worry about it.
On Facedork they can always unfriend you if they do not like it.
After all it’s not if you know them.

What brings you to the idea that she was offended? If it’s because she stopped talking to you, then she maybe she should be offended that you ignored her when she clearly said she doesn’t have time to talk.

Either she has no sense of humor and didn’t get it, or shes just one of those assholes that leaves mid conversation. either way it seems to strain credulity that you OFFENDED her.

i don’t see why you even have to assume she is offended. she already explained why she didn’t want to talk. -_-

just be patient. maybe she’s stressed or her parents are getting divorced or someone died. just give it a rest. it’s not all about you.
