Lifetime Fitness called me back and told me they found my swimsuit and could release it back to me.

I went to the front desk and said to the lady “I’m here to claim my swimsuit from lost and found.” She told me to hold on a minute. A couple minutes later a lady came and told me to follow her to the laundry room. After we got into the laundry room she pointed to a dryer that was on and said, “is this your swimsuit you left?” I said, “yes it was! You found it thanks!” She then said, “Ok. A janitor found it at one of the sinks and put it in the towel hamper.” I said to her, “Yeah I was drying my hair and I guess I forgot about it.” She replied, “you have to pay a $70 fee for us to return your swimsuit. We had to clean it because it was with the towels. It will be out of the dryer in 10 minutes. If you don’t pick it up within 10 days it will be donated to charity.” I said to her, “why is it in the dryer with a bunch of towels?” She said, “it was in the clothing hamper with towels and was dumped in the machine.” I said, “well I don’t have $70 so I guess you’ll have to donate it.” She then said to me, “I can waive the charge because you came so fast to pick it up.”

I finally got my swimsuit and Lifetime definitely shrunk it in the dryer. It was very hot when I got it back. It fits me but it looks weird on me.

Lifetime Fitness is very strict with lost and found items. I once left my white down jacket in the locker room and I was told it was put in the towel hamper via a Guest. Since it was white it was hard to find. A male employee allowed me to go in the laundry room with him to find the jacket. I figured out that I left my down jacket there 30 minutes later. While I was searching for my jacket in the hampers the male employee asked the maid ladys if they put a jacket in the washing machine and they did. The male employee told me he cannot get it until it’s done. He gave me permission for me to stay and wait for it. Apparently after the wash cycle is done they take everything out and manually sort it for the dryer. The lady sorting the clothes took my jacket out and just threw it on the floor while it was soaking wet from the washer. Another lady picked the jacket up and put it in a “ready for dry cycle” hamper. Finally she put my jacket in the dryer. After the dryer cycle finished another lady took all the towels out of the dryer and put those in a hamper. The lady who threw my jacket on the floor in the first place got the jacket out of the dryer and put it on the floor again. I picked it up, put it on, zipped it up and left.
