school help: I am feeling an increased need to get away. - Help.com

I am feeling an increased need to get away.

Not only from my home, but from everything I know. I need to find my comfort zone, and leap past it. I do not even feel the need to finish school. I need a place to run away too. Troubles need to be made so I can learn who I am.

I felt like running away last week. But it was because of an overwhelming sense of stress and panic for all the stuff piling up on me. I don’t think you need trouble to learn who you are. You are who you are. You are who you want to be. You are who you were. The only constant is you. :) Clear as mud?

When your young its a good time to go really far past your comfort zone and find out who you are and start your life not where your family defines it but in new territory that you have discovered and conquered yourself. I t hurts but the alternative is worse. Go forth and conquer while you can!

Clear as mud. But I can only hope it is from stress and panic piling upon one another. I appreciate the reply and will look forward to my feelings subsiding.

Last week when I was having the overwhelming desire to flee, I went and hid in my car. And I cried, so hard. But when I got done crying, I felt a little better, and I pulled out my handy dandy notebook and I wrote down everything that was bothering me and everything I felt confused or overwhelmed by. Then, I wrote down how those things could be worse. Then I wrote down what I could do to make them better. Some of them- well some of them there was nothing I could do about it. So I forced myself to let it go. The things I could do something about I put on a checklist and said “I will deal with three of these things every day.” And I did. It really did help. But what helped more was realizing how much worse some of my problems COULD be. :)

I think acting on rash emotions causes rash decisions, which are almost always not good.
Just take a day off and relax.

In three days, come back to this train of thought and see if it’s changed at all.

Actually this advice did not turn out 100% for me so maybe not.

And you don’t think school is a good enough challenge and won’t help you grow? Because I think it will. Or at least, it should. How good the schools are depends on where you live exactly.
