my best friend has been sexual abused for years by

her older brother in law and just recently he practically rapes her and shes trying to hide it if i tell her parents her dad will get re divorced and her family will split up and she wont tell anybody cause of that she only told me cause she trust me completely i want to tell her dad and mom but its not my place i don’t know all the angles i don’t know what to do i want to tell her parents and im probably gonna lose her as a best friend in the process but i don’t want a creep like that out there but again its not my place i even asked my dad on what to do he told me to stay out of it its her thing i really do need help on this shes been having him touch her for so long shes numbed her self to it i just need some advise on what to do

Your father is right. It’s HER business only.
But you should advise her to report her brother in law to the police — if necessary with the support by an attorney.

Well since she trusts you completely, don’t violate her trust. Maybe you can talk her into going to the police or something else, but don’t do anything against her wishes.
